Weaving in VR
One of my earlier prototypes that I did not make a dedicated post for is the below weaving simulation in Unity. The user controls which direction to weave in: left, right or up. It was imagined that the weaver would be creating a three dimensional structure in VR through weaving that they can then navigate around.
The craft of weaving in this case was imagined as an embodied act where the weaver's entire body becomes an interface with which to tell the computer how to weave. One would need to move their arms in unison with the rest of their body while holding onto a long stick that can be likened to a game controller. But more important than the controller is the weaver's own body that becomes the interface between the real and the virtual worlds.
