The Story of a Dash follows the journey of a dash from initial mark making through its various different forms to its final realisation in a digitally manipulated form. Various different manual methods were explored such as hand painting, screen printing, foiling and puff printing. Later, designs created using these methods were manipulated digitally to generate various different types of surface designs with a new digital aesthetic but still using the same visual cues from initial mark making.
